The pump connects to the engine's threaded dipstick tube and draws used crankcase oil out without requiring a drain pan beneath the engine. Mercury specifically lists this pump for compatible outboard, sterndrive, and inboard engines.

Compatible with the following:

• MerCruiser sterndrive engines with a threaded fitting on the dipstick tube
• MerCruiser inboard engines with a threaded fitting on the dipstick tube
• Mercury 8HP FourStroke outboards, 2004 and older, with adapter 828369
• Mercury 9.9HP FourStroke outboards, 2004 and older, with adapter 828369
• Select Mariner 8HP and 9.9HP FourStroke applications with adapter 828369

The pump extracts used engine oil directly through the dipstick tube, helping reduce spills and simplify routine oil changes, particularly in tight engine compartments. It can also make it possible to extract engine oil while the boat remains in the water on compatible applications.
