Mercury Repower Rebates & Financing 2026: What to Know Before You Buy

Mercury Repower Rebates & Financing 2026: What to Know Before You Buy

Repower and Save Event

Thinking about replacing your boat's outboard? Mercury Marine's 2026 Repower and Save Event offers eligible customers a choice between up to $1,500 in rebates or financing as low as 3.99% for 36 months (4.98% APR) on qualifying new 30-425 HP Mercury FourStroke outboards.

The promotion runs from October 20 through December 15, 2026, but there's more to a repower than choosing an engine and collecting a rebate.

Here are a few things worth knowing before you buy.

How Do You Claim a Mercury Repower Rebate?

The first step is purchasing an eligible new Mercury outboard through a participating authorized dealer.

Mercury requires qualifying purchases to be completed by December 15, 2026, and the engine must be warranty registered by December 30, 2026.

The rebate isn't necessarily an instant discount at checkout. Mercury advises allowing 4-6 weeks after rebate submission for processing and eligibility verification.

At Gregor's Marine, our team can help you identify qualifying engines, review the promotion requirements, and coordinate the purchase and registration process. We can also explain the applicable rebate submission steps so nothing important gets overlooked.

Does a Repowered Mercury Come With a New Warranty?

Yes, an eligible new Mercury outboard comes with its applicable manufacturer's limited warranty, separate from the warranty on your old engine.

The exact warranty coverage depends on the engine and its intended use. Any additional promotional warranty coverage must be confirmed separately, since this rebate promotion does not itself advertise an extended warranty.

Warranty registration is especially important for this offer because Mercury requires it to be completed by December 30.

Can You Reuse Your Existing Controls and Rigging?

Sometimes! A repower doesn't always require replacing every component already installed on your boat.

Depending on the old and new engines, some existing controls, gauges, steering components, or rigging may be compatible.

Other repowers require updated controls, harnesses, steering equipment, or additional installation components.

This is why the cost of a repower isn't always just the price of the engine. A proper quote should account for the installation and any required rigging changes. Rebate or Financing: Which Is Better?

The rebate varies by horsepower, ranging from $300 to $1,500. Alternatively, qualified buyers can choose promotional financing at 3.99% for 36 months (4.98% APR).

Mercury's rebate amounts depend on the horsepower of the qualifying engine.

For example, an eligible Mercury 150 HP FourStroke repower qualifies for a $1,500 rebate under the promotion.

The two offers generally cannot be combined. Financing is subject to credit approval and applicable terms.

For some buyers, the rebate provides more immediate savings. Others may prefer the financing option to spread out the cost.

Which Engines Are Excluded?

Mercury excludes V12 outboards, Mercury Racing, Avator, MerCruiser, diesel engines, previously registered engines, and several commercial or fleet applications. Boatbuilder package purchases are also excluded.

Eligible engines are limited to qualifying dealer inventory.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I qualify for a Mercury repower rebate if my current outboard is another brand?

Yes. You don't have to be replacing an existing Mercury engine. Repowering from another manufacturer may qualify as long as the new Mercury outboard and purchase meet the promotion's eligibility requirements.

Can I trade in my old outboard when repowering?

Some marine dealers accept used outboards as trade-ins or can discuss options for your existing engine. Trade-in availability and value depend on the engine's age, condition, and market demand. Ask our team about available options when requesting a repower quote. NOTE: This is exclusively up to the dealer and not Mercury Marine.

Can I finance the installation costs along with my new Mercury outboard?

Yes. For qualifying purchases, Mercury's promotional financing can include the engine, associated rigging, controls, propellers, and installation labor, up to 125% of the engine's MSRP. Financing is subject to credit approval and program requirements.

Does Mercury cover new gauges and controls under the engine warranty?

Eligible Mercury Precision Parts installed with a new Mercury engine through the Precision Rigging Program can receive limited warranty coverage matching the engine's warranty. This can include compatible controls, steering components, SmartCraft gauges, and VesselView displays.

Can I order an engine that isn't in stock and still receive the rebate?

Backordered engines do not qualify for this promotion. Eligible engines are limited to available new dealer inventory, so it's important to confirm availability before planning your repower.
