Mercury Thermostat Housing Kit 90736A24 is an OEM replacement cooling system kit for select MerCruiser GM big-block V8 engines. Mercury issued this kit as the replacement for earlier thermostat housing configurations used on compatible carbureted sterndrive, ski, and inboard engines.

Compatible with select applications including:

MerCruiser 7.4L / 454 CID V8
MerCruiser 8.2L / 502 CID V8
Mark IV and Gen V big-block engines
Compatible sterndrive and inboard configurations

Mercury's service bulletin specifically identifies 90736A24 for 454/502 CID Mark IV and Gen V engines. The correct housing configuration depends on the intake manifold mounting-hole orientation, so fitment should be confirmed before ordering.

The complete kit includes the thermostat housing assembly along with the associated T-valve assembly, cover, lifting eye, thermostat sleeve, gaskets, screws, washers, and related installation components.
